Teal Gravy is the name of this crazy kid's 'band,' an unusual group of characters. We've got 16 year old PJ on lead guitar. And we've got Mom on bass. Seriously.

Band Info

Located in Sacramento, California, TealGravy is actually a random name assigned by xBox. This 16 year old rock fanatic chose to name his "band" the same because... well, he's 16 and that's what 16 year olds do.

As mentioned, this band consists of mom and son (believe or not). In an attempt to demonstrate what it's like to play with others, mom picked up the bass and created a few songs with this budding guitarist. Then the light bulb went off. Both mom and son thought how funny (and weird) it would be if they set off to become serious musicians and create music that America couldn't help but adore.

Okay, so the last part may be a bit dreamy. But the first part is how this unusual duo actually started in music. There was the fantasy -- and then there was the reality. Both son and mom know how incredibly impossible this set up could be, but that's what makes things challenging and fun around here. Music doesn't have to be boring or methodical. Nor does it have to come from long-haired hippie guys. Moms rock too! At least this one does.

One thing is for sure. This "idea" will either make us or break us. And the end result will surely gain "TealGravy" the attention he deserves. He's really talented!! TealGravy (or "PJ" as we like to call him) plays rhythm and solo guitar. When the mood strikes, he may even bang on the drums for a bit. Day Job: Being a kid. Mom plays the bass (and tries to sing). Day Job: You Tell Me

The kid's influences include AC/DC, Tenacious D, and Crossroads. Mom is in her 40s so there's hardly a genre or popular group that hasn't shaped her tastes in one way or another.
